OnePlus 8 Launches in America

The time for 2020 smartphone launches has begun, with Motorola and LG have already made their announcements. This extends towards the Apple Company, releasing the iPhone SE 2020 Edition. The most recent announcement for a new smartphone comes from the OnePlus Company, which revealed two new devices. Those are named the OnePlus 8, acting as the standard Edition with an average cost. The secondary model is called the OnePlus 8 Pro, which provided enhanced features in the camera and screen departments. This mobile handset has been available to Asian consumers for two weeks, with it initially being released to these markets on April 14th. Fifteen days later and these models are now available throughout North America.

These are premium handsets supporting high-grade modular, enabling peak performances for a prolonged period. This is possible through the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Chipset. It’s paired with 256GB of UFS3 Storage, with an additional 12GB of RAM. Consumers purchasing the standard model receive a 90HZ Quad HD Screen, and Triple Camera System. Buying the OnePlus 8 Pro allows for a 120HZ Display, with the following components supporting a Quad-Camera system.

Each respective version of the OnePlus 8 supports three colours. The standard model is purchasable in Interstellar Glow, Polar Silver, and Glacial Green. Premium colours with the OnePlus 8 Pro include Onyx Black and Ultramarine Blue. Purchasing this device is manageable through three retailers in the United States. Those include Verizon, T-Mobile, and Amazon. Canadian customers can buy this device via the OnePlus website until Rogers and Bell made their respective retail confirmation dates, which is expected to be after COVID-19.

Contracts & Cost

The associated cost with these handsets will be extensive, with each device supporting two price points. The OnePlus 8 Standard is available at the starting cost of $699.99. That can increase to $799.99 with specialized accessories and add-ons. Similar strategies are employed with the OnePlus 8 Pro, which starts at $899.99. The final cost is $999.99. It should be mentioned that these are the unlocked prices for OnePlus’s newest handsets. Verizon and T-Mobile will provide these mobile phones for lower costs under contracts.

T-Mobile is allowing the OnePlus 8 – 5G Edition to sell for $0.00 down. This means consumers can acquire this device online without paying any upfront costs. However, there’ll be a $30.00 monthly charge added to phone bills that is paid off over two years.
